Dr Edidiong E. UKOH is the Acting Head of the Science and Technology Education Department. She obtained Ph.D. in Physics Education from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan in the year 2008. She received M.Ed. (Physics Education) and B.Ed. (Physics) from the same university in 1998 and 2000 respectively.

  She has a tracked teaching experience of over 24 years and has worked in various institutions (primary, secondary and tertiary) in southwestern Nigeria. He has published many National and International Journals and attended many Conferences across several countries and also a reviewer of several top-tier academic journals. Dr Ukoh has strong zeal towards professional activities and member of learned academic associations like MAN and STAN. His research interests include enhancing students’ achievement in mathematics and sciences through the use of novel instructional strategies, curriculum design and development, ICT in mathematics, affective constructs in the teaching of mathematics via technology (e.g. mathematics anxiety, motivation, self-efficacy, belief about the nature of mathematics), as well as values in mathematics (e.g. curriculum-ideologies, mindsets, thinking styles), assessment, ethno-mathematics, PCK, and visualisation). He teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His undergraduate teaching includes: teaching methodology and practicum (mathematics), Basic mathematics for Social Science and Science pre-service teachers, Research methods. Emerging issues in mathematics education and research project, while at postgraduate level, his teaching includes: modernalisation in teaching mathematics methods and emerging issues in mathematics, advance research methods, and advance statistics in education. He has supervised about xx B.Ed. students, xxx Master dissertations, and xxx Ph.D. Theses.

He has written and co-authoured many mathematics textbooks at both primary and secondary school levels.  He is a committed individual and an excellent teacher, who has the efficacy to make the dreams of students come true with a meticulous planning and relentless hard work. He has excellent listening and communicative skills and always accessible to students.
