Welcome to Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The Department, formerly Department of Physical and Health Education, was established 1975. The Department grew to become the largest and educationally most influential Department of its kind in Nigeria. 

The aim of the Department is to study, develop and share in the diffusion of the best that can be known about teaching and learning of Human Kinetics and Health Education. 

The postgraduate programmes within the Department lead to the degrees of M.Ed, M.Ph/Ph.D and Ph.D in Human Kinetics or Health Education. Effectiveness in teaching/coaching and advising students is highly valued. Research, scholarly publishing, and leadership in professional organizations are actively pursued. In addition, many lecturers are distinguished practitioners in their fields. 

The Department has an active student Nigeria Association for Physical, Health Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance (NAPHER-SD). This Association sponsors academic, professional, and social events annually
